KINGSTON, Jamaica — The South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) says it has remitted all outstanding deductions effective Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in keeping with a commitment from Minister of Health, Dr Fenton Ferguson.
Ferguson made the commitment during his sectoral presentation in Parliament in May.
Chairman of the Board of SERHA, Dr Andrei Cooke said funds were received from the Ministry of Finance through the Ministry of Health to facilitate the region making the payments to clear all outstanding personal deductions.
"We have now cleared all outstanding personal deductions in full and we are happy that we are now at the stage where we can do so," Dr Cooke said.
He said that a help desk set up at the regional office and a toll free line (18884295013) are available to staff to facilitate any queries they may have.
The board chairman said that it is the intention of the region to remain current with these payments and thanks the staff for their patience and understanding.
