Tuesday, October 30, 2012
THE recently released Samsung Galaxy SIII smartphone was named 'Product of the Year' at the recently held 14th annual PCWorld Latin America Awards in Miami, Florida.
The award was one of several copped by the company, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies.
The Galaxy S III also earned the title of "Best Smartphone for Consumers." With more than 20 million devices sold in just three months, the Galaxy S III has set a new record in sales in the shortest period of time over any of its competitors.
In addition, Samsung was honoured with six other awards out of 40 categories, including 'Best LED TV', 'Best digital compact Camera', 'Best multifunctional printer for enterprise', 'Best Media Storage', 'Best Tablet for Home Users' and 'Best Notebook for Enterprise Users'.
The winners were announced at the 14th Annual PCWorld Latin America Awards' Grand Gala, which took place at the Conrad Hotel in Miami, FL. A panel of judges comprised of regional editors at PC World chose the winners based on products and services they believe lead the market in price, innovation, technology, functionality and technical support, among other factors.
