Monday, May 24, 2010
HEAVY explosions are ringing out in West Kingston as a large contingent of police and soldiers have converged on the volatile community of Tivoli Gardens in an effort to bring in reputed don, Christopher 'Dudus' Coke.
Plumes of smoke can also be seen rising from the area.
Until now the security forces have taken a soft-handed approach even in the face of constant attacks by gunmen which resulted in the deaths of two cops and the injury of six others.
The cops were attacked as they attempted to clear a roadblock at Mountain View Avenue.
Stung by the deaths of their colleagues lawmen have launched on offensive on Tivoli Gardens, Coke's stomping ground and the power base of Prime Minister Bruce Golding's West Kingston constituency.
There were also reports that the violence had spread to sections of a community known as 'Southside' near to the Kingston Central Police station. Jamaica Defence Force soldiers and police have been deployed to that area to quell the disturbance.
Gunmen and police were also engaged in a running gunbattle in the Central Kingston community of Woodford Park.
So far there are no reports of injuries.

For those of us who are weeping uncontrollably, abroad and at home,
discussions about green groups, red groups, visas, sovereignty, imperialism and legal maneuvers are matters that are insignificant, give no solace and offer no solution to our present dilemma.
Having ignored the whispers of Our Creator, we’re now weighed down by a mega-nightmare, our own creation.
Sadly we got caught up with us and ours and missed the glaring warning signs.
To desperate, neglected abandoned communities, ALL that glitters is gold.
Is this catastrophe a blessing in disguise, an extreme wakeup call to unite, to cause a major shakeup, to coax a paradigm shift in our attitude?
When the dust settles, let’s accept the daunting challenge to elect a government that deserves to rule our nation.
To desperate, neglected abandoned communities, ALL that glitters is gold.
Dig deep into the entire deck for sincere, ethical, law-abiding leaders, who are committed to the welfare of ALL of our citize

Elimination now necessary. I need to show my support for the security forces publicly. Can anyone on here tell me how to do that please?
5/24/2010
The security forces have displayed remarkable restraint in their handling of this political affair. Their members have now been killed and maimed by thugs and criminals. They must now respond with lethal force. It is about time.
I do not want to hear from any "Human Rights" organazation screeching about " Police Brutality". Let them tell the 2 million plus law abiding Jamaicans who are being held hostage by a band of political thugs where did our rights go.
5/24/2010
I am in FULL SUPPORT of my government regardless of party affiliation! I am invoking the spirits of our ancestors to guide the Police and Military forces in weeding out the last of the bacterias that have caused social and economic unrest in captial and business center of Jamaica.

All this taking place and the MP is missing in (in) action.
Bruce has faithfully represented Dudus and has now forsaken him in his moment of most need.
Never you trust a politician--wondered who said those words in song?

Killing police is not any ordinary affair. The criminals should pay the ultimate penalty. The police and soilders should keep on the offensive and stay steps ahead of the criminals. Full time Jamaica rid itself of some of them. Yes WE Can.

That quote is most appropriate. Thanks for the view. Jamaica is the latest classic example.

This in not the time to political. It is time to clean house. We need to take off the orange and green blindfold and wrapped ourselves in Jamaica land we love. We sit back for years and let politicians, dons, we adopted the no informer code of conduct, big up the dons, death to babylon and not it has come full circle to bite us in asses.
When you let a sore go for years without medical remedies, one day it bound to rotten off the foot.
Where do we go from here. Will it be business as usual. Now we know this is bigger than Tivoli aGrden.
5/24/2010
The politicians, mainly Mr. Seaga and the present PM created this mess in TG and affiliate communities for the JCF and JDF to clean up. They should be out there on the frontline risking their life to save Jamaica. I hope all members of the security forces come out safe after dismantle these garrisons.

About time the Police Force and Army show some backbone. You can't allow criminals to think they run things take out even the dogs leave no stone unturn people were warned to get out. I hoped the kids are spared but man woman dog and cat take them out. Restore Jamaica to its pride and glory. Do you know whats it like being overseas and hearing all these bad news coming out of you country. Bruce Golding you MUST be held accountable for these happenings every soldier or police that lose their lives their blood will be on your hands.
5/24/2010
The Police in Jamaica needs to have been more aggressive in the first place. In US, you can't even make too much noise and get away with it.
Hopefully, this will be a turning point in the right direction for the country.
5/24/2010
Move on Jamaica House first and lockup Bruce first. Him shame wi and him fi go a prison fi lying. But den him is a politician and by definition him must lie. So lock up all a dem !! We need to build a better Jamaica wen them ya scumbags go a prison.
5/24/2010
Finally! Go security forces.......if you are fired upon, just shoot to kill and ask question after. Detain every man over 15 years old. If they are resisting arrest, just shoot to kill also. Time to wipe out this virus.
5/24/2010
Jesus Died for us, we will die for Dudus... IMAO...
You know this is what Bruce feared when he stood up in Parliament, and Defended "The Rights of the Jamaican People". The PNP is responsible for all of this. If only they had just kept there mouths shut!
5/24/2010
JLP was the administration that founded this mess, it's only right they are the ones to make sure it's fixed.
No doubt more lives will be lost on both sides, gunmen and police, however bloodshed is necessary to dismantle these areas.
Be safe members of Jamaica's security arm and remain vigilant in your operations.
5/24/2010
Lets see if anything wil come of this operation. There must be sound results. Whichever way.
5/24/2010
No matter how this development is spun the architect of the whole thing is non other than Bruce Golding , the PM , THE LEder of the JLP or the MP , whichever title he chooses to use.Have anyone ever heard the authorities "telegragh" an impending extradition. He subtly gave them the heads up to get prepared . Everything is on
'The Golden One's " shoulder.

It's about time that the hands of the security forces let loose. Too long they have been tied. A nd in the same breath, some of them are also recruited to be spies for the tugs, so it's a long way off to have a successful organisation. Iurge the police and soldiers to sweep clean Tivoli, leave no stone unturn. And any politican step in the way, get rid of them once and for all. They are the ones who start all this, and now it got out of their control.Al political perties in Jamaica, need to be dismantled, and the security forces take over, even for a month. And in the mean time sellect new and open minded people who are qualified to start a new government. The volcano has eruped, and the lava is spreading. It has been a long time coming, the warning was very clear, but those who put it into placecan no longer curve it,and now the lava and the ashes are on the shoulder of the security forces. what a sintin
5/24/2010
where r the army tankers...the police must use them to go into Tivoli....
5/24/2010
It's about time! They can't feel that they can just shoot at police and burn buildings and get away with it. Two police are dead and they are someone's children. Storm them I say and don't back down. If they resist, then eliminate them! One area cannot hold a country at ransom! Do your thing JCF and JDF, and may God protect you all!
5/24/2010
There must be a relentless effort now to kill or capture these terrorists in Tivoli .
5/24/2010
Civil War..Pure and simple...
5/24/2010
Are you sure this is not just another NPM initiatve in Tivoli to clear the garbage off the streets?
After all the Labour Day projects were aimed at giving the city a face-lift.Soon the Police may be white washing the kerbs.
Ja Cynic
5/24/2010
Blitzkieg the TERRORISTS now.
5/24/2010
All a dis a mek it worst fi u bruce. Wi nuh waan u in a Jamaica house. We want honest people. We dont need hyprocritical leadership. Go Bruce, leave jamaica and never come back.
5/24/2010
This was a carefully planned civil war. The gunmen knew how to start a war. How long will it last? How many lives will be lost? People if you can get out of Kingston! It will spread! Take it serioously! Please don't watch and wait! Take your family and leave especially the males. I do not care where in Kingston you live; get the hell out now! Protect your selves. There is no control over a bullet once it leaves the barrel of a gun. Do not wait for the govt. to order an evacuation. Run for your lives! Please! There is a state of emergency - leave.
5/24/2010
And so it begins, the war between Jamaica and the Republic of Tivoli Gardens for the Souls of Jamaicans, Armageddon the war between good and evil. My dear soldiers and Police officers who are out there dong the necessary for the ungrateful may almighty God guide your bullets straight to the hearts of these heartless criminals who have taken over our couintry.May the rifles in your right hand be like the Sword of Gideon to smite the heads of these vipers and scorpions who have held this beautiful country hostage and belittle us in the eyes of the world. In other words may god be with you my brothers whislt you are caught up in this mess that was brought on to us by these narrow minded, greedy, power hungry Politicians that rule over us.
5/24/2010
Dudus, i pray to god that u get out of there alive because we all want to hear what these politicians have been going on with and you know all their secrets. Give yourself up to the US marshalls so that these politicians can pay for their crimes aswell, they are the ones that always get away scotch free, i know the government will not take this guy alive, they want him dead and they know it. after he's dead, then what..... im sure he has his second right hand man to take over after him, the solution is for him to tell what he knows, the politicians bred him, now he must tell all!, thats the only way jamaica will be renewed, bcause these politicians have been sitting in parliament for decades, but gunmen come and go, they either die or go to prison.
5/24/2010
And so it begins.
5/24/2010
I never thought the day would come when I would hear someone describe Jamaica as becoming the Mogadishu of the Caribbean. If the government does not take swift action to protect the police and enforce the law, it may very well become like Mogadishu. I am saddened and shocked to see my country being ripped apart like this. I can only pray that out of the sorrow, will come some peace for Jamaicans.
5/24/2010
Well apparently Mr. Coke did not reach a deal with the US Marshalls. This is problematic.
5/24/2010
I have to commend the police they have shown a tramendous amount of restraint; but the time has come and they are acting. God help our country, hopefully we can rise like the phoenix out of this whole horrid situation.
5/24/2010
Goodluck security force, my prayers are with you. Weed dem out, and restore our country
