PHOTO GALLERY: Soldiers clear Red Hills Road

Monday, May 24, 2010

JAMAICA Defence Force soldiers used a bulldozer and trucks to clear blockages erected at various points on the busy thoroughfare of Red Hills Road this morning.

The road was blocked at various points between the Price Mart supermarket and the Emmanuel Gospel Assembly by thugs who have joined in the fight against security forces in defence of reputed Tivoli Gardens don, Christopher 'Dudus' Coke.

Roadblocks were also erected near the Sandy Gully Ford near a community known as 'Ackee Walk'. There the Observer roving team spotted women extorting money from motorists in order to allow them passage.

Why di photo dem so likl bit Observer?
I've noticed that when photos are on the main page they are bigger than the ones in the artlcles. It's kind of frustrating to click on the article to get more info only to find smaller images. An option to click and view bigger versions woudl be welcome even if it opens in a different window.

Our country is now like rotten egg. we have allowed it to the criminals and we are reaping the harvest. This all boils down to the politcians who are greedy, to the mothers who knowingly support their sons who are gunmen and the lawmen who live lawlessly. Its only God alone can save us out of this pit that we have found ourselves in. We need a day of repentance for (1) Mothers who washes the dirty garment of their sons (2)Politicians who are wealth seekers (3) Lawmen who are rubbing shoulders with these criminals. We need to eradicate grudge, hatred, and malice from our hearts and teach the young generation the right thing so we can have a better tomorrow.

You all know what I find quite odd . The thugs , who are winning the battle so far are killing policemen and the police who are trained shooters are not able to even injury one of them ,Is it that they are told to be careful and deliberate in their response. Where is Adams when he is needed . Bruce "The Golden One " Golding has got rid of him.

That is a national disgrace. We have acted in a most disgusting fashion. Our women up till now have been the ones holding families together and the main influence on our children. They have set a very bad example.Shame!!

I wonder if any of you who are asking the police and the army to just go in and engage these guys and take them out are any better. We all know these criminals do not respect life. The police are taking a slow methodical approach to reduce or avoid as much as possible, the loss of innocent lives. I bet none of you actually live in Ja. You all might not even know where to find Tivoli.

Several who are arguing from beyond the PC screen; are not in support of hanging, or drastic measures against criminals. We must come together in the fight to see Government implement hanging, for murderers, CAT O NINE, for gun Criminals, and Rapist. Jamaica do not have any drastic laws which would act as a deterrent to those Slugs who have no regards for human life and the Laws. Is this not plain to be seen?. It's not just because several of those Slums are illiterate, but the Government have failed to exercise it's authority. Look at the out dated laws we have out there; Criminals have being allowed bail, only to be free to continue their dirty criminal actions. And human rights groups are in support of this. A criminal who must remain beyond bars, are allowed back on the Streets. The idea of the Police, which says they must not be back on the Streets, have being ignored. The Complete system, administration have failed intelligence, allowing Slums to control. See what's going on?.

Those are not women, they are gals! These so called women in these communities are the same ones who have those same kids and train them to steal, rob and kill so they can go Passa passa! They are the ones who use themselves as shields to protect the gangsters. The same ones who send their daughters to be sexually abused by the dons! The same ones who hide the guns for the criminals! Bring them in and charge them and send their backsides to prison! The only purpose they serve is to populate the country with these criminals! If I was a member of the JDF and they wanted to be shields, then I would see how much bullets they can stop. But that's just me. I am appalled at this situation. This prime minister Judas Golding started this thing and I hope he is happy. Your hell is going to be sweet!

Citizens must join with the Police, and Massacre Gun Men. All Citizens must move out with their Machete, and kill Gun Men..I should be there. They must be rounded up and Chop to death. The Citizens are more than Criminals. Intelligence have failed, we must take action. The Police alone cannot manage.

I am losing hope in the police/army taking decisive action against the gunmen.
It seems they are just trying to weather the storm while hoping Dudus surrenders.
So while the Dudus saga may come to an end we should remember this display of criminal might. Unless it's back is broken all thought of Jamaica lifting itself up economically or socially is just wishful thinking. Because an entire social order has been built up around criminal enterprise. And it poses an existential challenge to the productive economy and the supposedly legitimate government. Bible cyaan wrong eeh? Yu sow the wind and yu haffi reap di whirlwind.

We The People - 1 Roadblock cleared
Bruce (GOJ) & Criminals - 2 police dead, 6 shot up, 1 police station bun dung, 4 police station shot up, number of civilians murdered, shops looted.
First half done and de criminals ah lead by a mile. We need a miracle.
Bwoy, it look like me deh pon de losing side. The commisioner needs to beg the gunmen a little more fervently as that is what the force has been reduced to. Imagine, not one gunman graze by a bullet.
bruce, yuh nuh easy. Yuh and yuh fake Police Commissioner.

This is the way they want to live....we need to bulldoze down the ghetto and give Jamaica a new start. As soon as they get a chance to do something illegal they jump on it. Get rid of these people, once and for all.

I am so a shame to call myself a Jamaican., when Mr. Holness said illiterate rate is down I ope he is watching to see how many dunce lived here. How did we allow Jamaica to reach this stage? The negative music the friendship with gunmen who cant spell their names and we call them area leaders. You Politicians
Should we just kill them off? Since it reach the state were we cant change them. When women who called themselves mothers come out and behave in such deplorable manner, what do we expect from our future leaders. I am so sorry for these children who cant leave on their own.
Their parents don't want to work so they depends on dons to send children to school and when these kids come of age they have to pay the price.
Dudus is the least of our problem, we need to get out those greedy MP and get people who want to selflessly help Jamaica.
I am begging our leaders to step down for the sake of Jamaica and give Jamaica a second chance to be a happy place to live.

I guess when they declared civil war they meant business!
How dare these under achievers do this to law abiding Jamaicans and other people there! No one owes them anything.
I hope the JDF will get things under control soon; they should have had the training and capability to do it.
I am sitting here shaking my head and thinking that this should not have happened. It could have been stopped earlier. This was allowed to happen. It is so wrong! I do not think that this was just about dudus. I think someone had an agenda - a get even agenda. SHAME! SHAME!
