KINGSTON, Jamaica - The Peoples National Party (PNP) has appointed Sophia Frazer-Binns to the Senate.

According to a release from the party Friday morning, Frazer-Binns has deep roots in the PNP having been a member of the party’s Youth Organisation and is now serving as Regional Secretary for the party’s Region Three organisation.

Frazer-Binns is an attorney-at-law by profession.

“We expect that her stellar contribution to her country in this new post will be supported by the credentials she has achieved in her professional career and as a social activist,” the PNP said in the release.

Frazer-Binns now joins three other women, Sandrea Falconer, Imani Duncan-Price and Angela Brown-Burke, currently serving as government Senators.
