KINGSTON, Jamaica — One of three men held by the police in yesterday’s brutal killing of a Manchester car seller was on bail on charges of murder and shooting with intent, the Jamaica Observer has learned.
The police have not released the names of the three suspects now in custody.
According to Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reports, 26-year-old Michael Rochester of Balbee district, St Elizabeth, met the three at Gutters in the parish to negotiate the sale of his Toyota motor car.
However, Rochester was instead robbed of his vehicle and killed.
He reportedly left the area in his motor car with two of the men aboard, heading in the direction of Spur Tree Hill.
On reaching a section of the roadway, explosions were heard, and the body was seen being pushed from the motor car. Another car was also observed speeding away from the scene.
Police later apprehended the men; one by Rochester’s car during a search of the area, and the other two on St Jago Road in Clarendon, the CCN said.
