OCHO RIOS, St Ann - Several residents from St Mary were left stranded in Ocho Rios Saturday evening after sections of capital town Port Maria was flooded.

The flooding followed heavy rains Saturday afternoon affecting both the business and residential communities.

A bus driver, identified as ‘Rumface’, who operates the Port Maria to Ocho Rios route said passengers were stranded on both ends of the route as there were also people in Port Maria wanting to go to Ocho Rios.

The flooding occurred just days after chief public health inspector for the parish, Paul Brown, suggested that people in certain communities in Port Maria be relocated.
