KINGSTON, Jamaica — The parents of the two-year-old boy whose decomposing body was found in a suitcase at their Kingston home will have to wait until August 21 to know their fate for concealing the child’s death and failing to bury him.
The couple, Alphanso and Stephanie Warren, who pleaded guilty to failure to bury a child and concealment of death, was scheduled for sentencing in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court Tuesday, however, the matter was postponed after the probation officer requested a month to complete a social enquiry report.
As a result, the Warrens’ bail was extended by Magistrate Maxine Ellis.
The couple was taken into custody and charged after neighbours stormed their home on January 15 and found baby Jeshurun's body in a suitcase. The residents became concerned after noticing that the child had not been seen for some time.
However, a post mortem done on the body later revealed that the child died of natural causes.
