A high school teacher, who is facing several sex charges in relation to reported incidents with students, was yesterday remanded into custody in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court pending the conclusion of his bail application scheduled for February 14.
Attorney Aon Stewart began making the bail application in a closed hearing before Magistrate Desiree Alleyne.
The accused is facing three counts of sexual touching, three counts of sexual grooming and a count of indecent assault.
Allegations are that the accused, over an unspecified period, fondled several students at a Corporate Area high school where he was employed.
He was taken into custody last week and charged after a report was made to the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.
