Teenager electrocuted in Savanna-la-Mar

SAVANNA-LA-MAR, Westmoreland - A 17-year -old male was electrocuted this morning while cutting branches from a tree on the premises of the St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Savanna-la-Mar.
The dead man has been identified as Najay Meickle, labourer formerly of a Farm Pen, Llandillo, Westmoreland address.
Preliminary reports are that about 9:30 Meickle was in the tree when a limb which he cut fell on a JPS high-tension wire.
A JPS team and the Savanna-la-Mar Fire Brigade assisted the police in removing the body from the tree.
The Westmoreland police are investigating.
