Sunday, December 13, 2009
Pastor Derek Bignall (left), president of the Adventist Church in West Indies Union, looks at the cover of the travelling multi-language Bible as he receives it from Pastor Guanther Garcia, secretary of the South Central American Union of Seventh-day Adventists, during the official handing over of the Bible from Costa Rica to Jamaica. Looking on is Pastor Al Powell, personal ministries director of the Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
Jamaica is the 112th stop for the travelling Bible that has been touring the world since October 2008.
The 18" x 12" Bible, which weighs 16.80 pounds or 7.6 kg arrived at the Sir Donald Sangster International Airport on American Airlines Flight 984 at approximately 11:35 am on Friday.
The Bible leaves Jamaica tomorrow for Caracas, Venezuela.
