KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Caribbean News Media Group has reported that the police in Miami have confirmed that Trinidadians, Haitians and Jamaicans are among 25 illegal immigrants who went ashore in Golden Beach in Florida Sunday night.

According to the report, Golden Beach police said six adults and two children are in protective custody at this time and they are searching for the remainder of immigrants.

One man was reportedly pulled out of Intracoastal Waterway and was taken to Aventura Hospital with a head injury. He is currently listed in critical condition.

"Officials gave them water and food while Golden Beach Marine Patrol and the Coast Guard search canals behind homes on water for the others," the report said.

The investigation has been turned over to the US Border Patrol.
