Triple killing rocks Green Pond

Saturday, August 25, 2012

GREEN POND, St James — The police were late last night following strong leads into a triple killing which rocked a section of this community Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as 39-year-old Donovan Anderson; 22-year-old mechanic Jermaine Gordon, alias Little Don; and 37-year-old carpenter Donhue Riggs, all of Green Pond, St James addresses.

According to the police, about 10:30 Thursday night, Anderson, Gordon and Riggs were among a group of persons outside a shop in the community when they were attacked by men armed with handguns. The three, who were shot and injured, were pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.

When a marked Jamaica Observer's vehicle drove into the community yesterday, a group of residents, who apparently did not want to be seen talking with the media, ran from the scene.

A group of stoned-faced men who were seen talking among themselves a short distance away discontinued their conversation when our news team got closer to them. They said that they knew nothing about the shooting.
