KINGSTON, Jamaica — A Tsunami watch that was put in place for the Caribbean has been cancelled.

In a media release the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) advised that the 7.9 earthquake that affected Costa Rica this morning, was determined to pose no threat and the watch was subsequently cancelled by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre.

ODPEM said the bulletin was inadvertently sent to the Caribbean countries.
