Two men killed in confrontation with police, firearms seized

KINGSTON, Jamaica -- Two men were shot and killed and two firearms seized during a confrontation with the police in Halls Delight, St Andrew, on Friday, between 4:00 am and 10:10 am, the police report.

One of the men has been identified as 31-year-old Carlos Johnson, otherwise called 'Nicholas' and 'Nicky', of Halls Delight, while the other is yet to be identified.


The police in a news release Friday said one M16 rifle, two 5.56 cartridges and a .45 Desert Eagle semi-automatic pistol with one .45 cartridge were seized in the incident.


The matter has been reported to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), the police report.
