UPDATE: Deceased in Portland yacht fall identified as 16-y-o British girl

PORTLAND, Jamaica — The foreign national who died after a fall on a yacht docked in the Errol Flynn Marina in Portland today, has been identified as Bethany Smith, a 16-year-old British girl.

The police this afternoon reported that Smith was cleaning the mast of the vessel when the ropes became undone and she fell onto the deck. 

She suffered multiple injuries and was taken to hospital where she died whilst being treated.

The incident took place around 2:30 pm today, onboard a vessel called 'Germania Nova'.
