The ATL Group has announced that Danville Walker has been promoted to the position of group managing director with immediate effect.

Walker, who began his tenure with the group as managing director of the Jamaica Observer in 2012, added Appliance Traders to his portfolio in June last year and in his new position will head the ATL Group of companies, which includes the Observer, Appliance Traders, ATL Automotive and FYAH 105 FM.

"Danville is one of these rare people; a born leader, moves quickly and carries the respect of not just the people within our organisation but of those within the communities outside," said ATL

Group Chairman Gordon 'Butch' Stewart.

"This appointment has been carefully considered and I wish him every good. There is no doubt he and the organisation will be a

great success together," Stewart added.

Walker will be responsible for driving synergies between the two ATL Group divisions as well as strengthening the company's back and front office systems to deliver the highest level of customer service.

"Since joining us two years ago, Danville has proved himself to be a great asset to our organisation," said deputy chairman and chief executive officer of the ATL Group Adam Stewart. "He is a true leader in every sense of the word and has propelled his respective teams to greater and greater heights. With individuals such as Danville Walker leading our company, the future is bright."
