SPANISH TOWN, Jamaica — A woman and a one-year-old baby are now in hospital in serious condition following an attack by three dogs in Eltham Vista, Spanish Town this morning. Residents report that a domestic helper was walking along the road with the baby when the dogs, including a pit bull, escaped from a home and attacked them.

"The dog jump up and took the baby out of the woman's hand," said Alvin, a resident of the community.

"Suppose you see what happen this morning, the dog had the baby in her mouth for minutes," said another resident who added that several attempts to free the child from the grip of the ferocious dog were unsuccessful.

Residents claim that it was a licensed firearm owner who came to the rescue of the victims, killing two of the marauding dogs.
