TAVARES CITY, Florida (AP) -- A series of major explosions at a Florida gas plant late Monday night, has injured several workers and left others missing.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Tavares City Administrator John Drury says 10 of 24 people working at Blue Rhino, a propane-tank business there, have not been accounted for after the blasts.

Arial footage of the scene early Tuesday morning showed fires still burning over a large area shooting large flames and plumes of smoke into the night sky. Emergency crews could also be seen massing nearby.

Lake County Sheriff Gary Borders says the blasts occurred inside the plant just north of Orlando and blew the roof off.

Reports are that the blasts began about 11:00 pm and continued for about an hour.
