CHARLES Hanna, retailer, avid art collector and philanthropist, died early yesterday morning in Miami, Florida after a brief illness.

Hanna, who was 69, was the son of Edward and Olga Hanna, immigrants from Lebanon who built an empire through retail and real estate and became two of the island's wealthiest entrepreneurs.
