Crime tops JamCan talks

Monday, April 16, 2018

Pearnel Charles Jr's first overseas assignment as minister of state in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade took him to Canada from April 6-8 where he participated in the Canadian launch of the Jamaica Diaspora Crime Intervention & Prevention Task Force. He also met with members of the Association of Black Law Enforcers, hosted a town hall meeting with members of the Jamaican Canadian Association, and dined with current members of the Ontario judiciary and a former member of the Ontario legislature. Chief among the subjects discussed was the country's crime rate and the partnerships that can be forged with the Jamaican Diaspora in Canada to find solutions. Here are some photo highlights.
