FORMER hotel General Manager Dimitris Kosvogiannis, who has been accused of fraud, is expected to stand trial on June 5.

The date was set after the court was told that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) ordered no further evidence on two counts of obtaining money by means of false pretence.

However, the court was also told that ODPP had instructed the prosecutor to proceed with the charge of breaches of the Revenue Administration Act against him.

After a few words with Kosvogiannis, attorney Peter Champagnie told the court that his client wishes to go to trial.

Last July, Kosvogiannis, who holds Jamaican, United States and Greek citizenships, was arrested on his return to the island at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston by financial crime investigators.

It was reported that the arrest resulted from an intense investigation into several fraudulent activities against two major banking institutions.
