Air J cancels more flights due to hurricane
Observer Reporter
Wednesday, September 08, 2004

AIR Jamaica has cancelled today's flight going in and out of Barbados, Grenada and Bonaire, as Hurricane Ivan races towards the islands of the Eastern Caribbean.

The affected flights are JM096 from New York to Barbados, Grenada and Montego Bay, and JM066 from Montego Bay.

The airline said passengers who were booked to travel to/from Barbados, Grenada, St Lucia, Bonaire and Curacao between September six and 13, may change their itinerary without penalty, provided they are in possession of a ticket.

These passengers, the airline said, will be guaranteed the same fare as they were originally ticketed on within the applicable fare parameters.

Air Jamaica said, too, that tickets with an expiry date during the affected period will be extended for travel to September 17, 2004, but advised passengers to keep a record of their locator number.

It said also that request for deferral of travel must be made prior to the original travel date.

Passengers who elect not to travel will be issued a voucher for future travel for the full value of the ticket without penalty, said the national airline.
