Observer Reporter
Wednesday, November 10, 2004

JOSEPH Burrows, a 22 year-old Bahamian student of the Northern Caribbean University in Manchester, has been reported missing since Saturday, November 6, the police said yesterday.

Yesterday, family and friends offered a reward of $500,000 for information leading to the whereabouts of the student. The reward is being offered through Crime Stop.

The police said that Burrows, who resided in Mandeville, Manchester, is of dark complexion, 185.72 centimetres (6 ft 1 in) tall, weighs about 160 lbs, with bushy eyebrows and sports a low-cut hairstyle.

At the time he went missing he was wearing a blue navy jacket (with two white stripes along each sleeve), white T-shirt, blue jeans pants, white socks and black and blue slippers.

The police reported that at about 11:00 pm on Saturday, Burrows left home driving his black Honda Integra motor car, registered 4761 EG, to make a purchase at a businessplace in the town.

The car was subsequently found abandoned at Royal Flats in Manchester. He has not been seen or heard from since.
Burrowes' wife, Alta Marae Allie, who is also a student at the university, said her husband was enrolled in the Department of Biology, where he was pursuing a first degree.
