Sizzla released

DANCEHALL entertainer Sizzla was yesterday released from police custody after being questioned by investigators from Operation Kingfish in connection with the discovery of 13 illegal high-powered weapons, a quantity of ammunition and other items at Judgment Yard in August Town, Kingston, last Thursday.

"Sizzla was questioned in the presence of his lawyer," Corporal Jean McDonald of the Constabulary Communications Network said. "He was then released."

The reggae artiste is one of 33 persons who were arrested after police unearthed six AK47 rifles, three sniper rifles, one M16 assault rifle, two shot guns, one Intratech 9 submachine gun, 23 AK47 rounds of ammunition, 31 rounds of 9mm rounds, four M16 rounds, two bullet-proof vests, 11 assorted magazines, and a silencer buried in a bag in a chicken coop in Judgment Yard.

The police have so far charged three men - Nigel Campbell, Michael Anderson and Aaron Chambers, all of August Town, with illegal possession of ammunition in connection with the August Town find.
