Observer Reporter
Saturday, April 02, 2005

THE Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) on Thursday appealed for help in trying to locate 13 cylinders containing chlorine, which were stolen from the wharf in Kingston.

The cylinders, weighing 200 pounds each, were stored in a container which was removed from the wharf on Tuesday.
"The public is advised that chlorine is an extremely dangerous substance. Exposure can lead to respiratory problems, severe burning of the eyes and skin," said a statement from the ODPEM.

Persons knowing the whereabouts of the cylinders are asked to contact 119, the nearest police or fire station, or to call the ODPEM at 928-5111- 4.
