OLD HARBOUR, St Catherine - Kirk Gordon, the 28-year-old coach of the Old Harbour High School's girls football team, is to appear in the Old Harbour Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday to answer carnal abuse charges.

Gordon, who lives at the teachers' cottage on the school compound, was arrested on Thursday. He has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old member of the team.

Last Wednesday, according to police records, the young girl began hemorrhaging after sexual intercourse with Gordon, who had sneaked her into his apartment.

The football coach took her to a doctor in Old Harbour, but after the teenager received some degree of medical help Gordon was told to take her to the Spanish Town General Hospital. She was examined and admitted. Her parents and the police were then notified that she had been hospitalised.

The girl, according to police records, told her parents of her contact with Gordon and they took her to the Old Harbour Police Station the next day, where she gave cops an official report. Gordon was later arrested and charged with carnal abuse.
