MAUVALYN Bowen heads to the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, United States for doctoral studies in business and industry, having been selected the 2005 Fulbright-LASPAU scholar.

Bowen, lecturer in entrepreneurship and management at the University of Technology (UTech), Faculty of Business and Management, will pursue research on the role of entrepreneurship in social and economic development during her three years at Minnesota.
The United States embassy in Kingston, announcing Bowen's imminent departure for the US, says the UTech lecturer plans to set up an entrepreneurship unit in UTech's School of Business on her return.
The Americans are sponsors of Fulbright. Bowen's academic qualifications to date include: a masters in workforce education and development from the Southern Illinois University in the US, a bachelors in business education from UTech; postgraduate diplomas and certificates in management and technology commercialisation from the University of the West Indies and the University of Calgary in Canada.
