Major arms find at Kingston port

THE police last night seized 20 guns during on operation at the Kingston transshipment port.

The find included 12 rifles, three shotguns, one sub-machine gun and four handguns and an unspecified number of ammunition.

Peter Phillips, the security minister, last night congratulated the police on the arms find. He specially commended the Operation Kingfish taskforce for gathering the intelligence that led to the arms find.

"The find is further evidence of magnitude of the crisis that we face as a nation. . The find is the successful result of the co-operation of the police and the citizen," he said.
