BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (AP) - A father who left his 11-month-old twins alone at home while he worked for hours on a cruise ship, must attend counselling before custody of his children is returned.
Michael Henderson Knight, the 37-year-old father of the twins, was sentenced yesterday. He was also given 200 hours of community service.
Police had to force their way into the home after he left the infants locked away in a bedroom for hours on Boxing Day. The penalty was for leaving the infants unattended for an unreasonable period without making provisions for their supervision and safety.
Knight, who is part of a group called Berger Boys, was on a party boat called the MV Harbour Master. The cruise was to run from 10:00 pm to 2:00 am.
