C&WJ rolls out prepaid homephone service tomorrow

COME tomorrow, Jamaicans will for the first time be able to access prepaid homephone services provided by Cable and Wireless Jamaica.

The service will initially be available in Kingston and St Andrew, St Catherine and St James.

According to advertisements ran in newspapers over the weekend, the initial set up fee will be $770, including GCT.

Calls be cost $1.25 per minute during peak hours and $0.99 per minute off peak for prepaid fixed line to another fixed line, prepaid fixed to dial-up (Internet) will cost $1.25 per minute during peak hours and $0.99 for off peak hours.

All prepaid fixed to mobile phone calls will cost $8 per minute, while prepaid fixed to other local operators will cost $9 per minute.

International calls will cost $15.75 per minute, billed per second, while prepaid fixed calls to Cuba will cost customers $66 per minute. Calls to Cuba will also be billed per second.
