MANDEVILLE, Manchester — Thirteen contestants will be vying for the crown in the Miss Jamaica World Middlesex competition here on Saturday, July 15.

“As usual we have an exciting line up. We want people to come to see the show,” said franchise holder Nicole Murray.

She said this year the charitable component will be to raise funds to assist a father caring for his child with Crohn's Disease.

Overall, Murray said, the focus on giving back will be strengthened because it is important that contestants do not just compete for a title but be role models and demonstrate qualities that can be emulated.

The winner automatically qualifies for the Miss Jamaica World pageant.

Miss Jamaica World Middlesex is slated for the Golf View Hotel in Mandeville.
