A St Ann woman and her son have been charged in connection with the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition in Mansfield Heights, St Ann, on Wednesday.

Police identified them as 56-year-old sales clerk Angella Edwards, and 30-year-old Texroy Walker, both of Mansfield Heights in the parish.

The police reported that about 6:15 am they carried out an operation in the area during which a house was searched. One Carandai pistol and 12 9mm rounds of ammunition were found under the kitchen counter, the police said.

Edwards and Walker were subsequently arrested and charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
