Director of Elections Orrette Fisher is expected to serve as deputy chief of mission for the Caribbean Community (Caricom) electoral observation mission to The Bahamas.

The delegation will observe that country's general elections, scheduled for tomorrow.

The chief of mission is Josephine Tamai, chief elections officer, Department of Elections and Boundaries in Belize.

The 11-member mission, which includes representatives from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago, will submit a report to Caricom Secretary General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, at the end of the mission.

A release from the Electoral Office of Jamaica said yesterday that Fisher departed the island on May 4 and is expected to return to Jamaica on May 12. In his absence, Deputy Director of Elections Earl Simpson will handle all matters related to the administration of the Electoral Office.
