Police seek witnesses for Coroner's Court

THE Bureau of Special Investigations (BSI) is seeking the assistance of the public in locating two witnesses needed by the Corporate Area Coroner's Court for a case to be mentioned on Friday, March 19.

Police listed the names of the witnesses as Andrea Ivey and Elsie Shim, whose last known address was Rock Valley in Stony Hill, St Andrew.

The case, the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) said, concerns the fatal shooting of Fitzroy Witter on October 1, 2002 at Rocky Valley in Stony Hill, St Andrew.

Miss Ivey and Miss Shim or anyone with information on their whereabouts are asked to contact the BSI at 922-9479/922-3359, The Coroner's Court at 922-2017, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.

Murder probe in Granville, Long Lane

Detectives from the Montego Bay CIB have commenced investigations into the shooting death of two men in separate incidents at Tucker main road, Granville and Long Lane, Anchovy, St James yesterday morning.

One of the dead was identified as 45-year-old Desmond Gentles otherwise called Yellow of Long Lane. The other man who was not identified was said to be in the 30s, of dark complexion, slim build and about 173 centimetres (5 feet 8 inches) long. His body was clad in a blue T-shirt, jeans pants and multi-coloured underpants.

According to the CCN, about 2:45 am residents reportedly heard explosions in Long Lane and alerted the police, who later found Gentles' body with gunshot wounds in a ditch. The area was processed and the body removed to the morgue for post-mortem.

In the second incident, about 1:50 am several explosions were heard in the Tucker area.

Investigators later found the body of the unidentified man with gunshot wounds. The crime scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for post-mortem and identification.
