Marilyn Allen (centre), winner of the Jamaica Observer Reggae Girlz Ultimate Fan Promotion, is overjoyed on being presented with her prize, an all-expense-paid trip for two to France to watch the Reggae Girlz opening Group C match against Brazil on June 9 in the Fifa Women's World Cup. Allen, who was also presented with other prizes by sponsors yesterday at the Observer head office on Beechwood Avenue in St Andrew, said it was an “amazing feeling” to be given the opportunity to witness Jamaica's historic participation in the tournament. Flanking her are sponsors representatives (from left) Karen Mignott, shop, food and service manager at French petrol company Total; Georgette Manning, regional commercial manager for North Caribbean, British Airways; Shanique Francis, promotions manager for Wata at Wisynco Group Limited; Jhana Edwards, planning and activation officer at Supreme Ventures Limited; Sophia Harris, director of marketing and business development at the Jamaica Football Federation; and Julian Rogers, Jamaica Observer managing director.
