SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth — A memorial scholarship has been established by family members of the late school bus operator Dave Wright — described as a “father figure” for many young people. Wright died in February of this year.

Wright, a past student of the St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS), operated a school bus service for students of STETHS, Munro College and Hampton for over 30 years.

Relatives say that in line with Wright's wishes, the awards must go to students of STETHS who are residents of his native Carisbrook in St Elizabeth.

Wright's widow, Sharon, recently presented the scholarship awards to the first recipients of the Dave Wright Memorial Scholarship, STETHS students Krishmar Nembhard and Sheldon Morgan.
