Reward for high achievers at Black River High

Black River , St Elizabeth – High achieving students of the Black River High School here were honoured during a prize giving ceremony at the school recently.

School leaders told Jamaica Observer Central that students were recognised for outstanding work in behaviour modification, academics, performance in the technical areas (skill competency), and community involvement for the academic year, September 2016 to August 2017.

The ceremony was organised by the school's administration with sponsorship support from the local business community.

The Principal's award was received by Chrisana Morrison, a Grade 11 student.

In an inspirational address, Jermaine Porter, social worker and recipient of the Governor General's Award for Excellence 2016 urged students at Black River High to rise above poverty and other challenges and strive for excellence.
