IT was a day of fun and entertainment for 150 St Ann children who were given an early Christmas treat on Fantasy-class cruise ship, Carnival Sensation.

Students from Salvation Army Basic School and the Methodist Outreach Centre were hosted by the foundation on the ship which docked in Ocho Rios, last week.

Some of the children were getting on a cruise ship for the first time and could not hide their excitement.

The staff did not disappoint them as they got to interact with the ship's Santa Claus and were presented with gifts.

The Christmas treat, which is in its 20th year in Jamaica, is facilitated by Jamaica Tourist Board.

“The kids were overwhelmed and had an awesome time with Santa,” Sharon Williams, cruise liaison officer with Jamaica Tourist Board said.

She said the schools have been very appreciative of this gesture.

Williams said the activities were also supported by JUTA, which provided transportation for the students to the cruise ship pier.
