HIGHGATE, St Mary — The lead in Zone J of the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup competition will be on the line today when St Mary Technical takes on Brimmervale High at Highgate Community Centre starting at 3:30pm.

Both teams are on four points from two games played, a win and draw and tied for third place behind leaders St Mary High, who are on six points from three games, and Guys Hill who are on five points, also from three games.

A win for either team today would see them take over the leadership in what is expected to be a close battle for the two qualifiers in the second round.

St Mary Technical have won the zone the last two seasons but have scored only one goal in their two games.

Meanwhile, Morant Bay High are one of seven teams that have won their first three games after just getting by Yallahs in their Zone O encounter on Saturday, winning 3-2 to keep their record perfect.

Morant Bay High previously had 2-1 wins over Robert Lightbourne High and St Thomas Technical. They lead Seaforth High who are on five points followed by Paul Bogle High on four but they have only played two games, one game less than the others.

Port Antonio High and Titchfield High drew their top-of-the table Zone L game 1-1 on Saturday as both were going after a third-straight win as well.

Both are tied on seven points and separated by goal difference, as Port Antonio High have cooled off a bit since they started the competition with an 8-0 win over Horace Clarke High a week earlier.

Since then Port Antonio have scored just three goals in their next two games, allowing two in the process.
