SAVANNA-LA-MAR, Westmoreland — The 18th staging of the Manning's Bigga Westmoreland Curry Festival is scheduled to take place on the grounds of Manning's School in Savanna-la-Mar on Sunday, April 29.

Artistes billed to perform during the live entertainment concert which will bring the curtains, down on the proceedings, include: Agent Sasco, Ding Dong, Kevin Downswell, Jada Kingdom, Lanz, Rygin King, Short Boss, J-Yungg, Kemikal, and Mycowave.

The day's activities will also include kiddies games and a diverse offering of culinary delights, which comprises curry from Barbados, India, Thailand, Cuba, France, St Lucia, Jamaica and Italy.

During the launch for the event at the Manning's School last Friday, Mycowave and Kemikal gave samples of what should be expected of them at the festival.

Steve Gordon, principal of the Manning's School, then received a cheque from Carey Wallace, executive director of the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF), one of the sponsors of the event, towards this year's staging.

Organisers are hoping to raise $3 million from the staging of the event, which will be used to continue the erection of a perimeter wall at the Westmoreland school.
