The staging of the two-day Outsource2Jamaica Symposium and Exposition, designed to bring together players in the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry, unfolded at the SMG-managed Montego Bay Convention Centre in Rose Hall last week.

The event, which was staged at a cost of $30 million by the Business Process Industry Association of Jamaica (BPIAJ), saw hundreds of participants from diverse fields of interest, — global experts, technocrats, local entrepreneurs, government officials, BPO leaders, buyers and service providers — in attendance.

The symposium and exposition formed part of the activities for National Outsourcing Week 2018. The week-long combination of events and initiatives were designed to promote and increase awareness on the many entrepreneurship, employment and partnership opportunities available in BPO industry in Jamaica.

According to president of the BPIAJ Gloria Henry, who hailed the inaugural staging of the event as a success, next year's staging will be held in Kingston.
