Mt Alvernia High start defence of basketball title

MONTEGO BAY, St James- Mt Alvernia High will start the defence of their ISSA Western Conference Girls' Open basketball title today when they face cross- town rivals Montego Bay High in the second game of a double-header at the Montego Bay Cricket Club.

Five schools — Mt Alvernia High, Montego Bay High, Muschett High, Holland High, and William Knibb — are taking part in the competition. the teams playing each other twice and the top two on points will qualify for the finals set for April 11.

In today's first game set for 1:30 pm, former champions Muschett High will face Holland High.
