Cornwall College high jumper Kobe Jordan Rhooms (left) left the island recently to take up a track and field scholarship at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. Rhooms, photographed with his mother Kerry-Ann Rigg-Rhooms at Sangster International Airport, has represented the in island the last two years at the CARIFTA Games, has won the Class 1 gold medal in the high jump at Western Champs, and was third at the ISSA Boys' Champs in the event. He is the sixth Cornwall College athlete to take up a scholarship in the USA in the past three years. (Photo: Paul Reid)
