MONTEGO BAY, St James — Montego Bay based-DJ Red Gold, whose given name is Johnatan Brown, is hoping to take off in the music business, as his latest single Way, Way is now getting heavy rotations in the dancehall.

Red Gold is also hoping to shoot a video for the song next month.

A native of Leamington, Westmoreland, the Lewisville High School past student is formerly a 'bike taxi' operator in the Negril area, plying the Negril to Whitehall and Red Ground routes.

Seven years ago Red Gold tried his hands at producing stage shows, reaping success with the staging of 'Water Splash' in Leamington and 'Horny Girls' at the Zinc Shack complex in Montego Bay.

But, despite the success of the shows, Red Gold believes that his true calling is to become a deejay.

He is set to release ' Mad Wine', and Mommy Don't Worry No More, in the near future.

“I want to give thanks to the Father up above to help me reach so far in the music business and guiding and protecting me throughout life,” said Red Gold, as he thanked the selectors on the various sound systems and the media for showing a keen interest in his music.
