SRI hosts 'Costume Wid Wow' party

Thursday, November 07, 2019

MONTEGO BAY, St James — Team members at Sandals Resorts International's Montego Bay headquarters had the opportunity to play dress up last Thursday as the company hosted its costume party and after-work lyme dubbed 'Costume Wid Wow'.

Dressed as scary nuns, bloody surgeons, witches, lady bugs and much more, team members pulled out all the stops to unleash their creativity at the Halloween-themed event. There was no shortage of fun and games as they participated in a Jamaican spin on the traditional Halloween pumpkin carvings by engaging in an exciting breadfruit carving competition. The evening also saw a keenly contested mummy-wrapping competition and of course no event would be complete without tasty treats including spooky meatballs, pumpkin mac and cheese balls, 'eyeball' brownies and other themed delights.

Team members also had the opportunity to strut their stuff, showing off their costumes in a bid to win top prizes.

Davion Smith's Vybz Kartel look, complete with the artiste's signature tattoos, classic laugh and on-stage mannerisms, was the crowd favourite and saw him walking away with the best costume prize.

Not to be outdone were Dahlia Powell as the ice princess, Bianca Young as the bloody surgeon and the Addams family pair of Jonique Gaynor and Toni McLennon as Wednesday and Morticia Addams, respectively, who also claimed prizes.
