Honours  — Asafa Powell has held the 100m world record on several occasions and has also been named the IAAF Male Athlete of the Year. He won the 100m title at the World Athletics Final in 2006, 2007, 2008, and finished second in 2009. He won the Commonwealth Games 100m title in Melbourne 2006 and won a bronze in the men’s 100m at the IAAF World Championships in Daegu, South Korea in 2009. 

Olympic Dossier — Powell has placed fifth in the 100m final at the Olympic Games twice, in 2004 and 2008. He earned a gold medal after anchoring the men’s 4x100m relay to a world record at the Beijing Games in 2008.
