BIRMINGHAM, England - A sizable delegation of international journalists who showed up to get a glimpse of Jamaican sprint superstar Usain Bolt at a church service for the Jamaican and USA track and field teams, left the Birmingham Cathedral disappointed earlier today.

"Do you think he is out of bed yet," one female photographer asked members of the Jamaican media delegation after eight Jamaican athletes and nine officials showed up just after 11:00 am UK time for the special service that was held for both teams.

The Jamaican delegation that was led by Technical leader Don Quarrie and JAAA president Dr Warren Blake who is here in his capacity as the chief medical officer included Samantha Henry-Robinson, Shermaine Williams, Hansle Parchment, Allison Randall, Jason Morgan, Sherifa Lloyd, Richard Phillips and Dominique Blake.

Olympic 400m hurdles champion Kerron Clement, shot putter Reese Hoffer and discus thrower Jarod Rome were the most recognisable athletes among the 16 Americans who showed up.

Sir William 'Bill' Morris the Jamaican born first black trade union General Secretary was also in attendance as well as Birmingham's Mayor John Lines; Paul Sabapathy CBE, Lord-Lieutenant of the West Midlands- the Queen’s representative and Roman Catholic Archbishop Bernard Longley who delivered the message.
