LONDON, England — Olympic 100m champion Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce says she has a higher source where she gets her confidence as she seeks to defend her title later this week in London.

After winning her first round heat in 11.00 seconds (+1.5m/s wind) Fraser-Pryce said she looked to a higher source, "My confidence is not in man but in God because He is the one who has brought me here,"she told reporters.

While admitting her start was 'tentative,' she said the plan"was to start properly and execute the full race."

All three Jamaicans advanced to tomorrow's semi-finals, as Veronica Campbell Brown who is chasing the Olympic 100m title, the only senior gold sprint medal she has not won, also won her heat in 10.94 seconds while Kerron Stewart recovered from a bad start to grab third in her heat in 11.08 seconds and an automatic qualification spot.

Stewart appeared to have been left at the start but said "I think my reaction was good but I stumbled on my third step and I had to fight to get back in it, this is the Olympics and you have to fight to show up."

Campbell Brown passed through the media mixed zone without talking to reporters.
