MONTEGO BAY, St James — Spot on Events and Marketing Solutions stages its inaugural Blast Back to School Expo and Play Zone at the Whitter Village, Ironshore on Saturday.
"The purpose of the expo is to allow potential students an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the offerings of various establishments, to ask critical questions, so that they can adequately compare programmes and in so doing make the right choices for themselves," says the company's managing director, Anna Toby.
"Over the year I have witnessed a broadening of the education options in Montego Bay and as such I thought that all parents and students would benefit from a single platform showcasing the diversity and accessibility."
According to Toby, during the one-day event, the spotlight will be on the University of the West Indies, Mona, western Jamaica Campus, the Institute of International Recognised Qualifications housed at University of Technology and the range of programmes that are now available in western Jamaica.
"Another area of the sector that will be featured is the growing base of online tutoring support that has really added another dimension to the sector," she said.
Blast Back to School will also feature a number of entertainment activities for the children. This will include: bounce-a-bouts, trampolines, mechanical bulls and kiddies karaoke.
